28 January 2009 - Invitation open for bids to host the World Congress of Neurology (WCN) in 2015

The World Federation of Neurology is pleased to invite bids to host the World Congress of Neurology (WCN) in 2015 from national member society Presidents and Delegates in the Americas. This will be the third WCN of the new biennial cycle of meetings to be organised on a global regional basis and will involve the newly-appointed WFN core professional congress organiser (PCO), Kenes International.

It is the prerogative of the WFN Council of Delegates, representing member societies from all regions of the world, to take the final decision by vote at their Annual General Meeting. The WFN expects that any discussions at regional level of where in the Americas the World Congress should be held will result in two or three possible locations being presented for consideration.

The venue of WCN 2015 will not be chosen until the Council meeting in 2010 but any country wishing to be a candidate to stage the Congress is asked to contact the WFN Headquarters Office by 29th May this year to express its preliminary interest. Short-listed countries will receive a site visit from WFN officers to evaluate the proposed programme and facilities on offer. Their report and recommendation will then be submitted to the Council of Delegates next year.

We look forward to hearing from any society in the Americas that wishes to be considered as host of WCN 2015.
