On September 22nd 2013, at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Council of Delegates during the Vienna World Congress of Neurology, elections will be held for the following posts:
- President (to take up office from January 1st, 2014)
- First Vice President (to take up office from January 1st, 2014)
- Secretary-Treasurer General (to take up office from January 1st, 2015)
- One Elected Trustee (to take up office from September 22nd, 2013)
If you are interested in running for office, or know of someone else who is, please ensure your nomination reaches the WFN London Headquarters no later than 16th November 2012. You will need to have the support of your national society and be able to demonstrate appropriate suitability and experience.
Candidates for President and First Vice President will also be required to formulate a statement of their goals and objectives for the organization if elected, which will be published. All submissions received will be scrutinized by the Nominating Committee who will draw up an official list six months before the date of the election. Additional nominations may be submitted by five or more Delegates acting jointly at least thirty days before the Council meeting.
There will be a degree of overlap between old and new administrations in two ways: the term of office of the current Secretary-Treasurer General will continue for a further year until December 31st, 2014; and two of the three Elected Trustees already in post at the time of the Congress will also continue to hold office – for one and two years respectively.
