WFN Educational Grants-in-Aid

To further its mission to "foster quality neurology and brain health worldwide", the WFN is this year offering up to 6 grants of $25,000 with a maximum spend of $100,000, to fund low cost, high impact educational and outcomes research projects. 

The grant is available to young neurologists, less than 10 years from graduating in Neurology, from WFN Member Societies. 

Research Projects that will be considered for funding include the following:

  • Education (eg, research on neurologic education and patient education). Please note that grants related to the funding or creation of neurological residency or fellowship training programs will not be funded
  • Improvement of neurologic services
  • Regional collaboration
  • Disease-based projects. Please note that pure laboratory (“bench research”) projects are out of the scope of this grant program


International cooperation is encouraged and preference will be given to residents in areas of World Bank low/lower-middle-income countries.


Application Deadline

  • Application due by 5 April, 2019
  • Applicants notified of results by 17 May, 2019
  • Applicants informed about final results by 7 June, 2019
